Eleanor Anstruther Literary Supper Club
This was my first WeFiFo event and I wasn't really sure what to expect; nor have I been to a Literary Supper either! The location was lovely. The author a revelation and the other guests interesting to meet. Unfortunately it was too cold that evening to be outside - we would have been better off in the barn. I enjoyed my food and found my dietary requirements had been well catered for - however for the future I would use a different dairy substitute for the dessert topping - it really didn't work with the posset underneath. I'd recommend the chef looks into using KoKo coconut yoghurt another time (Tescos and other large supermarkets) and/or sheeps yoghurt (Waitrose) which is the closest I've ever found to cream.

I love these events! Great to meet the author, hear her be interviewed and read from the book, then talk to her afterwards after dinner (when you can ask those questions you don't want to ask out loud in front of everyone)! Fabulous food, beautiful setting, lovely people... Thanks so much!

A lovely evening at Hayes Farm. The author gave a beautiful reading and insights into her book, which I now cannot wait to read. The food was superb - beautiful tender meat, delicious salads all from local producers and a light summery dessert. As always, friendly company and interesting conversation.

Lovely evening. Good balance of event i.e. talk versus dinner. Very inspiring. Eleanor was wonderful - very charming, open, great charisma. Only slight downside was that it was too late (and too cold) for outdoor dining. Some hot coffee would have been nice to warm us up!

Another good evening. One comment - I have been to four events and whatever table I sit on never get to sit with the author - I even chose a different table last night to try to get to sit with the author! Could the author be persuaded to change tables at some point - it leaves the table who don't get to sit with them a bit out of the party. I love meeting the other guests, but it would have been good to chat to Viv last night as question time in the first session was so limited by time. Food was superb.

A memorable evening in the company of really lovely people. Great atmosphere and all my favourite things in one place. The stunning library was a fantastic setting for Adele Parks' witty and informative Q&A with Seni and Tim Maddam's unobtrusive but flavoursome food went down a treat in the glorious barn. Loved the toffee apple finish! Would love more events like this.

Amazing! Adele was charming and the ‘interview’ was the perfect combination of professional (like a really good BBC interviewer) and really intimate. The location was inspiring and somehow the energy in the room was palpable. I was nervous before I arrived as I didn’t know what - or who - to expect but I was put at ease within minutes and everyone was so friendly and interesting. The food from Salt Box was super - unpretentious and all about the flavour. If it hadn’t been for the snow, we might never have left! Can’t wait for my second event ?

Giggling Squid Horsham Feast Street
It was the first time this type of event had been held so it was a bit chaotic. When I booked the tickets I tried to find the menu but couldn't, however the dishes offered were acceptable. It would have been better if more drinks were available without having to walk back to the Big Nibble to purchase drinks, thus many people made do with water. I do know the reasons for this but perhaps it could be rectified another time.

Once checked in, we weren't entirely sure what was going on. After waiting quite some time, food started arriving quite quickly and after a while it stopped without explanation. We were still hungry and more food was then provided thankfully. We had a nice afternoon.

Giggling Squid Horsham Feast Street
It was a little bit under sold from a marketing point of view. Needed some big signs up. Food was good and atmosphere nice. Just felt a little exposed. Next time seat people at different restaurants on different tables. Enjoyed it though but a few changes for next year and it would be a great experience.

It was so lovely to meet new hosts, catch up with current hosts and spend some time with the HQ team. It was great to hear about everyone's food journeys be it home cooks, professionals or people with no experience but just a passion to share food, it just proved that WeFiFo is a great platform for us all no matter where you are on the food path so to speak. Lunch was provided by Awesome Auntie and it was delicious (I had two helpings of the biriani ... or did I have three!)

Really interesting concept . I turned up with an open mind as had no idea what to expect and loved every moment . I am considering getting involved with hosting . I think your idea of a charity donation is a great idea for HO events
The plates have been cleared, the oven switched off, the washing up has been put away… so how did it go?
