How lovely to eat how I like and still feel full. I especially loved the rice and the bread and dip at starter, yummy lamb with said rice for main all yummy. I would happily return to such nice food and company xx
Amani and husband Andy were great hosts making you feel welcome and relaxed (this was my first such event so warm welcome was appreciated and helped set the tone for the evening). The food was very good and Amani was able to explain details of the dish and culture of Sudan. One of the traditions of Sudan is to ensure guests are welcomed and offered plenty of food which Amani certainly delivered on.
I would definitely attend another event.
It was the first time I have visited Amani's Kitchen but I suspect it will not be the last. The food was extremely tasty and it's always great to experience new cuisines. So many elements of the meal we're new dishes and in particular the lambs liver was so tender. Lovely vibe and space to eat in.
Warm, friendly enviroment. Full of food lovers of all ages and walks of life. I was made to feel very welcome and thats down to the great Host Amani and her husband! Cant recommend them enough. If you ever have a chance to sample Amani's food then its a no brainer. Its delicious and full of flavor. Made some friends and left happy with a full tummy! :D
Amani and Andy are lovely and very welcoming. Amani’s cooking is absolutely delicious with flavours that transport you to Africa, The Middle East and beyond. I left feeling very full and happy. Great evening!
From the hibiscus infused drink on reception, to the last spoon of delicious blood orange dessert, I really enjoyed this meal. Amani was a excellent host, her cooking was delicious and the dining environment was very comfortable. Plus the other guests were fun to dine with so overall a great introduction to WeFiFo!
Amani I don't know how you do it . . . the slow roasted tomato soup was delicious, the homemade cheese and spring onion scones were delightful, the avocado and feta salad with barberries exquisite and the marmalade cake was the best I have ever tasted .... all that and spending an afternoon with funny, thoughtful, likeminded people .....
Amani is really warming and it's always a pleasure to attend her events and sample her dishes. The food was lovely and I enjoyed speaking to the other guests about WeFiFo and food in general. A really amazing time!
The food was amazing, plenty of food to eat - a lot of variety - all beautifully cooked and presented. The atmosphere spot on with a Sudanese flavour. The host knew a lot about the culture, taste and flavours with Sudan. A fantastic night, lovely host and great value for money. Even got a little gift to take home.
Amani was very welcoming and laid back. The food was lovely from start to finish and she explained each dish to us. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and evening with the other guests. Would recommend Amani's kitchen!
My sister and I had great evening at Amani’s Middle Eastern Vegetarian Mezze event. The food was all beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Amani kindly adapted a couple of the dishes for my sister who is vegan. The setting was warm and welcoming, leading to lots of conversation and laughter around the table. It was our first time attending a WeFiFo event and I would highly recommend the experience.
It was an absolute pleasure to be allowed the opportunity to eat with Amani and Andy for this Middle Eastern feast. Dish after dish of wonderful food was placed on the table, the Baba Ganouj was creamy and delicate, the red pepper and walnut dip was delicious, I had three helpings of the carrot slaw with raisins and seeds (in the end I had to ask another guest to move the dish to the other end of the table to stop me from devouring the lot). The Moroccan style cous cous, with vegetables and harissa tomato sauce had me delving into the depths of my dish to see if I could uncover the secrets of the soft, fluffy couscous I have never tasted anything like it .... as for the dessert I have always avoided cold rice pudding and when offered a bowl stuck my spoon in out of politeness OMG it was delicious and I want to say thank you for introducing this into my life, if it wasn't for you I would definitely never have eaten it and is went so well the with oranges - who knew!! Amani and Andy kept the conversation flowing and if your are interested in food and food stories then you are in for a treat. Andy let me have a smell of his home made kimchi and it was amazing, so much so that I was trying to work out how I could accidently leave an item of clothing behind so I could pick it up in a few days just as the kimchi was about to be ready to eat. If you live in the area don't miss out on the opportunity to eat here - if you don't live in the area MOVE - you will be glad you did.
Our lunch party was the most unique beautiful food experience. We were totally amazed at the level of cuisine that was being served to us in our own home. 3 courses of delicious middle eastern dishes. An abundance of subtle spices. Excellent value for money-in fact I'd say Amani isn't charging enough for all her time and skill. A Hugh thank you from all out guests from 4 continents everyone was well impressed.
Amani is a warm and welcoming host -- there was a fizzy glass of hibiscus and prosecco to greet us all on arrival (and non-alcoholic options too), and all guests were introduced to one another and got chatting. The food was stunning and beautifully displayed, and Amani gave us lots of information about the dishes we were eating. She also took care to fill up glasses and offer drinks -- we didn't even have to ask. Conversation around the table flowed, and to add to the fun there was a quiz about Sudan to get our minds around. Lovely details like name cards in English and Arabic, and some delicious sweet spiced tea at the end of the meal, as well as some delicious walnut biscuits bagged up to take away all made for a wonderful evening.
So, how was it for you?
The plates have been cleared, the oven switched off, the washing up has been put away… so
