I have no mum for Mother's Day - she has left me and gone to Spain and Alan's mum is sadly no longer with us and I have no children so am not a mum either. For some people Mother's Day is painful, difficult and another day to get through. Come along to Darwen to share our Sunday roast, bring your mum if you are lucky enough to have one or be one, bring your step mum, your favourite aunty or just bring yourself.
We're not having a starter today but make sure you save some space for pudding and a cheese board!
Today we are having Alan's favourite slow roasted shoulder of lamb with a port and redcurrant jus .... (its called gravy up here but I was trying to be posh) Served with golden, crunchy roast potatoes and a choice of at least three vegetables if not more. If you are a vegetarian and want to come get in touch and we will rustle up one of our vegetarian delights.
Alan loves chocolate so today we will be having my special gooey fudgy chocolate brownies served with Madagascan vanilla ice cream and cream.
If you have room there is a selection of foreign and local cheese some hard, some soft - so soft they are practically gooey served with grapes, walnuts, figs, biscuits and membrillo.
Freshly ground Brazilian coffee served with a variety of after dinner mints. Our variety of liqueur coffees knows no bounds. We have whiskey, both Irish and Scottish, Brandy, Tia Maria, Baileys, Tequila, Rum, Amaretto; you name it we’ve got it !!! There is also Yorkshire tea, mint tea, green tea, liquorice tea, pomegranate and apple tea and decaf coffee if anyone wants one.
Hi Maria, I think there's been a mix up with events. I'm booked in for Dinner on Mother's Day. I didn't put my name down for the afternoon tea for this Saturday. I was a bit worried as I thought there had been a problem for my payment for this Sunday. Could you give me your mobile no again please. I seemed to have misplaced it.
