Expect big flavours of Sri Lanka in every mouthful. The weather is warming up and my plates of food will compliment and celebrate this!??I’ll be cooking a mix of regional dishes and my own interpretation of my favourite Sri Lankan plates.
A humble festive snack from Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka, it's made with spiced rice and urad dal flour and deep fried. Our version is topped with tempered turmeric potatoes, mango yoghurt, tamarind sauce, crispy curried chickpeas and a spicy coriander and mint sambol.
SRI LANKAN SHORT EATS
Jackfruit & Sweet Potato Cutlets
These have all the flavours of Sri Lanka rolled into perfect bite sized, panko crumbed balls, dill mayonnaise and our Little Sambol hot sauce.
Chicken Curry Patties
Curry stuffed buttery, flaky curry leaf pastry, lemon and lime pickle yoghurt sauce.
Veg option: Seeni sambol puff.
Cucumber, radish, red onion and green chillis.
Little Sambol Lamprais
Slow cooked lamb curry, cashew nut curry, samba rice, pol sambol and seeni sambol wrapped and baked in a banana leaf. Served with a cucumber pachadi to cool everything down.
Veg option: Tamarind Aubergine Pirattal.
Cardamom Burnt Cheesecake
Cardamom cheesecake with lime curd, coconut cream and mango and passion fruit sauce.
