Join us in our urban garden around the fire for an evening with Nell Aubrey, Historian of Medicine with a fascination for myths and folklore. Beltane has long been celebrated with fire, flowers and feasting, so, as far as health and safety allows, we will explore the rituals performed to purify, protect and bring prosperity for a long and bountiful Summer.
In the kitchen Skip Garden chef Mickey Reedy will be interpreting some of the rituals and stories through a 3 course vegetarian and vegan menu. Think Bannock bread, sacrificial goat's cheese and all the lovely seasonal vegetables Spring has to offer including: asparagus, artichokes, new season aliums, wild flowers (for your crown and your plate), nettles... as we are working with seasonal and local produce our menu will be defined closer to the time.
Welcome drink & amuse bouche
Flower garland making (we must all look our best for the feast)
3 course vegetarian supper
Tea and sweet treat around the fire pit
The garden is a licensed venue and we will have a selection of wines & beers available on the night, cash and card payments accepted.
