Really enjoyed the day, Gregg was an amazing host and made the day. Lots of laughs and great to hear stories from Masterchef. The food was great, although was expecting a little more from the main as it was a bit 'roast dinner' style, although the beef itself was amazing. Will be back to the restaurant and will also look out for other we fi fo events.

A perfect way to spend an afternoon. We were greeted at the door by Greg Wallace which was a really nice touch and he kept us entertained throughout the meal. What a lovely man he is. The service was excellent and the meal absolutely delicious we will be back to Wood’s again and again. We had such a lovely time.

Attended with my husband. Food was great. Beef was a little rare for some people but we found it melt in the mouth. Simon Wood came to chat with us and thanked us for attending. Nice photo taken with him and also Gregg Wallace. Gregg was as lovely as ever and very approachable. Enjoyed the general banter with people. Would love to do it again. We both had a great evening. The set up of the tables allowed for sociable dining - the couple we sat next to were lovely and we had a laugh. The restaurant was full and the service was great, very friendly and not over bearing. The food tasted delicious but I don't think it showcased the chefs talent - simple cuisine that wouldn't make me rush back to dine there again. As a Masterchef winner I was expecting something special for the money charged.

I was really pleased that both Gregg and Simon weren't doing the cooking because it meant that Gregg was in amongst the diners entertaining us all. Gregg was very approachable with lots of stories and jokes to tell but, as he pointed out himself, he could have asked US a little more about ourselves and our interest in being there. Simon also came out of the kitchen a couple of times to say hello and he was a really lovely guy, very easy to talk to and it seemed a little more conversational. The food was excellent. The nibbles of pork scratchings and the camembert starter were exceptional - so tasty and delivered in good time by the waitresses. The main took slightly longer to arrive, by which point our warm plates had gone cold, and actually the beef, potatoes and veg had also gone cold once they were delivered. It didn't take away from their taste but it was disappointing that it was cold. The dessert was delicious and a real treat to taste the dessert that Simon had won MasterChef with. The meal itself and the wine were very reasonably priced given that there were only 50 tickets, so I felt that they had been fair and not taken advantage of the fact that this was a premium event - it made it more accessible to all. The surroundings were lovely - the décor was simple but finely tuned, the toilet facilities were pleasant (very important!) and the room wasn't echoey. Overall, we had a fantastic evening and will definitely return for lunch at some point - and keep an eye out for more events with Simon!

Absolutely fantastic evening. Food was wonderful. The staff were exceptional and a credit to Woodkraft. Met some lovely people who were complete strangers but bonded over good food. Thank you Simon Wood and Greg Wallace for a lovely evening. Now wheres the recipe for that desert?😁
