Owner of the Freston Boot and professional chef. Never one to take things easy, I try to constantly innovate and develop different styles and methods of cooking to really inject some theatre and as much customer participation as I can. There're always plenty of projects on the go whether it be overseeing the food ops at Cult Cafe in Ipswich to consulting on menu & kitchen design at various projects worldwide, new product development for food companies to speaking or doing stage demos at food festivals and unique events. Always up for a challenge I'm a passionate supporter of English food provenance and the need to educate and train the younger generation

Mike Keen was absolutely amazing - a really fantastic menu of slightly different/ slightly out of the ordinary tastes and flavours, but which all worked really well together as a tasting menu, and none of which were so "out-there" to put us off. The purity and intensity of flavour from the Basil sorbet was remarkable, and the Ballotine of Guinea Fowl was perfection. Added to which, Mike was absolutely charming and very interesting about what he enjoys to cook, and why. A first-rate evening - not to be missed.
