Kirsty and Debbie are running the London marathon for Sense - National Deafblind and Rubella Association.
We hope you can join us for dinner and help them reach their fundraising goal! (we raise the money - the running bit is all down to them).
Cauliflower with saffron, – I love cauliflower and it is always a challenge to find a recipe that puts a bit of glamour in to what can be a dull, white vegetable. The Saffron not only gives this dish a bit of pizzazz but turns the cauliflower golden yellow.
Catalan chick pea salad – this delicious warm salad relies on just a handful of ingredients, chorizo, chickpeas, bay leaf (grown in my parents back garden), tomato and red onion – you will be fighting over the empty plate to soak up the leftover juices.
Our meaty main is Spiced Lamb Kefta – these homemade round patties of lamb are delicious. When you bite in to them you get a burst of juicy sweetness from the currants and the lamb followed by a crunch from the toasted pine nuts.
All served with rice and vermicelli pilaf - (you are going to want to marry me after you have eaten this) and garlic bread.
And relax ....
Still warm, straight out of the oven Maria’s special gooey fudgy chocolate brownies served with Madagascan vanilla ice cream and fresh cream.
Zesty lemon Meringue pie with mountains of soft meringue, this will make your tongue tingle and your mouth water.
Then there is the mega cheeseboard - selection of foreign and local cheese some hard, some soft - so soft they are practically gooey served with grapes, walnuts, figs, biscuits, quince jelly, membrillo and a snifter of port.
Freshly ground coffee served with a variety of after dinner mints. Our variety of liqueur coffees knows no bounds. We have whiskey, both Irish and Scottish, Brandy, Tia Maria, Baileys, Tequila, Rum, Amaretto; you name it we’ve got it !!! There is also Yorkshire tea, mint tea, green tea, liquorice tea, pomegranate and apple tea and decaf coffee if anyone wants one.
