Come and join me for a night of tapas, cicheti, nibbles and good conversation with some friendly folk. Apart from the salami and the sobresad this is a tapas that leans to a vegetarian diet but do let me know when you book and I will make sure the salami is served on a separate board and I will stuff some of the mushrooms with cheese.
We are starting the evening off with some sharing boards of all things charcuterie, 6 different types of salamis, 4 different types of olives and 5 different types of cheeses served with a variety of breads to tear and share.
Tortilla - A Spanish classic with only three ingredients, eggs, potatoes and onions but done well it is a miraculous thing.
We are going to do something sexy with tomatoes.....
Roasted peppers with sea salt and olive oil - Pedron peppers if I can get hold of some if not just ordinary peppers made extraordinary.
Slow roasted marinated onions - these onions caramelize roasting in a bath of red wine vinegar, brown sugar and spices, soft and creamy on the inside and caramelized on the outside.
Garlic smashed potatoes - Don't worry we will give you some extra strong mints to have before you go home!
Sobrasada stuffed portobello mushrooms - Sobrasada is a distinctive, paprika-spiked, cured sausage that has a texture like pâté. In the Balearics you’ll find it absolutely everywhere and in an endless variety of recipes. we are going to add a touch of brandy, coriander and saffron and stuff it into some very large mushrooms.
For pudding (we always have two) we will have meringues, some homemade ice cream if I have room in my very full freezer and then one other so if you have any favourites give me a shout.
