At Food Sorcery we are lucky to work with Jason Palin who has cooked in more that 40 countries around the world, pasta is another of his well honed skills and the beetroot pasta is something to behold!
Hosting can be a little stressful, so it helps to have a few tried and tested recipes up your sleeve. The opening course sets the theme and expectation for the rest of the meal and is key to success. During this course you will learn to cook 3 starters of increasing style and complexity…with the tips handed out by our chef, you will confidently be able to prepare in advance for any occasion.
What you will Learn:
Our chef will show you 3 dishes on the day, at home these can be combined giving a multitude of options:
Dish 1 – for a speedy, unplanned occasion. This dish will be quickly prepared and ready to eat or pop in the oven in about 15-20 minutes, crowd pleasers such as smoked salmon or mackerel pate; roasted asparagus with parma ham or a poached egg;
Dish 2 – a little more planning here; this dish may take 30-40 minutes to get into the oven with a sauce or dip completing the dish; beetroot falafel with raita; spicy scallops with lime and coriander; aubergine fritters; fresh pesto and white cod.
Dish 3 – the show stoppers; These may take an hour to prepare, but done in advance, great for the big occasion; warm flatbreads or chapatti; fish or crab cakes; potted duck; dumplings (Japanese or Indian influence)
What’s included:
Refreshments and enjoy the dishes you have prepared throughout the evening; enjoy a glass of well-matched wine.
