Today we are hosting a celebration of all things vegetables. If you have been to dinner before you will already know that, quite often the dish that steals the show is a vegetable one so we are bringing all the most popular dishes back and introducing some never been seen before bowls of yumminess.
We are eating Ottolenghi style so everything will come out as quickly as Alan can carry it!
Black bean and avocado salad with nachos - this dish has a mexican infleunce with a last minute squeeze of lime to make it zing.
Village tomato salad - A popular salad in Syria and Lebanon served with chunks of fresh bread to dip into the juices
Labneh dip - Homemade soft cheese with a tomato, mint salad dressed with a drizzle of olive oil and nigella seeds. (we have some vegan cheese to replace this dish).
Grilled chopped aubergine salad dip - a bit of a salad that thinks its a dip!
Vegetable Pahi- technically this is a dry Sri Lankan curry but my version is a bit more like a pickle. I serve it cold with lots of fresh bread to dunk into.
Roasted red onions with a walnut salsa - this dish has now become a firm favourite at our supperclub events.
In the UK we regularly eat hummus cold but in Arabic countries they eat it warm too so tonight we are going to roast a tray of root vegetables and serve them on a bed of warm humus and sprinkled with sunflower seeds for a bit of crunch.
Cauliflower and cumin fritter with lime yogurt - a bit like a pakora these little parcels of joy will make your heart sing, I bet you can't just have one. (roasted cauliflower for the vegans)
For dessert....
Sliced oranges served with an orange blossom, rose syrup - simple yet delicate you will be avoiding eye cotnact with other guests as you watch who takes the last slice.
Second Pudding TBC - if you have been to dinner before and had something thatyou want us to make again then get in touch.
Coffee served with a variety of after dinner mints. There is also Yorkshire tea, mint tea, green tea, liquorice tea, pomegranate and apple tea and decaf coffee if anyone wants one.
